Client Description
The customer is the leading nonprofit serving homeless veterans and families in New Jersey. They address a major underlying source of veterans’ homelessness: High rates of mental illness, trauma and substance abuse and the challenges are increasing. Roughly half the soldiers who served in Iraq and Afghanistan have been diagnosed with mental health conditions, including one in five that suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Project Description
Each year the customer holds its annual gala and silent auction to raise operating funds to support their programs. Axians was hired to provide the event production for the event which included audio, video, multi-camera iMag and audio/video recording of the event. The event is considered the largest of its type in New Jersey, with attendance at nearly 900 guests.
Challenge
The customer indicated that in previous years the quality and quantity of sound was insufficient for the size crowd, and iterated that good sound was paramount to the success of the event. The customer also expressed the importance that the gala video was also seen and heard by all. Lastly, this is a very high profile event, attracting the biggest CEOs in New Jersey.
Approach
Upon being selected for the event, Axians began planning with the customer 6+ months in advance to ensure no detail was missed and to establish their trust. This included subtitles, presentations, and re-mastering files such that audio levels and video imaging were consistent. Axians put the customer at ease by setting up the room a day in advance enabling a full program walk-thru 24 hours before the event started.
Solution
Axians deployed:
- A powerful, large-event audio system that easily filled the room with sound without being over-bearing.
- Video production system including 6 input video switcher to support multiple cameras and multi-media playback.
- Audio/video recording equipment to permanently capture the event.
- Custom-made titling, background music and pre-event voice-over slides to add that something-extra to the event and make the night as easy for the customer as possible.
